Current Hourly Rate:

21 and over: £12.71
18 to 20: £10.85

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Trainee Blind Fitter & Maker to join our growing team.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to learn a skilled trade from the ground up. No previous blinds, manufacturing or installation experience is required — full training and support will be provided.

You’ll learn the process from measuring windows through to manufacturing and installation, building practical skills and confidence along the way.

What You’ll Learn

As you progress, you’ll gain experience in:

Accurately measuring windows and understanding different window types
Cutting, manufacturing, assembling and finishing blinds
Working with different blind styles, materials and fitting systems
Safely using hand tools and installation equipment
Installing blinds, shutters, brackets, tracks and fittings
Carrying out quality checks to ensure a high standard of finish
Preparing materials and equipment for installation
Working safely and professionally in customers’ homes
Providing friendly, professional customer service
Working confidently both independently and as part of a team

Key Requirements

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with the right attitude.

You’ll be someone who is:

Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Practical and enjoys working with their hands
Keen to learn and develop new skills
Comfortable following instructions and learning on the job
Friendly, professional and confident around customers
Physically capable of carrying equipment and completing installation work
Happy working both independently and as part of a team

A full driving licence is essential, or you should be actively working towards obtaining one, as the role involves travelling to customer properties.

Experience

No previous blinds, manufacturing or installation experience is necessary.
